The suspect does not come into contact with the witness

During the whole of the VIPER^® process there is no requirement for the witness and suspect (or accused) person to meet. This is because the video recording and the viewing can be conducted entirely separately and even on different days and at different locations.

This will provide comfort to any witness who may be concerned about meeting the suspect (or accused) person. This has provided a strong basis for many more ID parades to take place as the confidence of witnesses in the process is dramatically increased due to the introduction of VIPER.
