Frequently asked questions and concerns

Q. What happens if a volunteer’s image is picked out in the parade?

A. If any volunteer is picked out in a parade then the parade is simply recorded as a ‘negative identification’ as the witness has failed to identify the suspect. They will not become a suspect!

Q. How will you keep images safe?

A. All images recorded are stored in accordance with The Data Protection Act 2018. The images will not appear online or TV and the images will only be used by the police to help identify the perpetrators of crime or to help clear those falsely accused.

Q. Does everyone have to volunteer?

A. No, anyone who is not sure about volunteering or has any questions can speak to the staff on site, no one will be forced to volunteer.

Q. Do you have any insurance to cover you whilst on location at our venue?

A. We do have public liability insurance which we can send prior to recording.
