Hosting a Volunteer Recording Session

The database team are currently recording volunteers at a wide range of locations throughout the UK. These include schools, universities, business premises, community centres and shopping centres working with staff and community leaders to arrange a recording session.

It couldn’t be simpler and only takes a few minutes. We have a mobile recording booth (similar to those where you get your passport photos) and marketing material that are used at various locations to help explain the process.

We just need a location for the booth with a power socket and a place where we can meet and chat with volunteers to explain the process.  Police staff are available to chat with volunteers and answer any questions.

It is important to note that the volunteer recording is completely anonymous as we only record a person’s age and nationality and each volunteer receives a cash reward for their time and help. All images are stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

Schools and colleges may want to consider running a recording event as a fundraiser or for a charity they support and we can help with any marketing material to support this event.

If you are interested in hosting an event and want to know more please contact the Bureau and we can discuss any ideas you may have.
